The ECOBOOK 2024 event series “Lưu Ban Moc - Hoa Duong Van”

In response to the call for environmental protection and the promotion of a reading culture within the student community, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam library, in collaboration with the DAV Book Club, organized the ECOBOOK 2024 event series with the theme “Luu Ban Moc - Hoa Duong Van”. The event took place from November 11 to November 16, 2024, at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, featuring meaningful activities aimed at promoting the spirit of leaing and reading, while also raising environmental awareness among students of the academy. Through activities such as the book exchange booth “Luu Ban Moc” and the workshop "Hoa Duong Van”, the event not only helped students save on the cost of books but also contributed to reducing paper waste, creating a sustainable leaing and research community.

The highlight of the event series is the “Luu Ban Moc” activity, where students can exchange old books for plants. This is a particularly meaningful activity, as it helps students save on the cost of purchasing new books while providing them with the opportunity to own valuable books for their studies and research. Additionally, this activity encourages students to collect old books and newspapers, contributing to recycling efforts and minimizing the negative environmental impact. Reusing old books not only helps protect natural resources but also spreads a strong message about maintaining the habit of reading and preserving the cultural value of reading within the community.

In particular, the “Hoa Duong Van” workshop provided a creative space where students were free to express their creativity through handmade recycled artworks made from old items. The workshop not only helped students create beautiful artistic products, but also breathed new life into materials that might otherwise have been forgotten.

According to feedback from the participating students, the “Hoa Duong Van” workshop was not just an opportunity to lea new skills, but also a chance for everyone to share and connect in a creative space.

From leaing how to create environmentally friendly products through the workshop, to contributing to environmental protection through the book exchange for trees activity, all of these efforts played a role in raising community awareness about nature conservation and sustainable development. Most importantly, the students not only participated but also spread a powerful message about protecting the environment and promoting a reading culture.

The success of the ECOBOOK 2024 event series came not only from the meaningful activities but also from the participation and contributions of the entire Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, particularly the Library Department and the DAV Book Club.
