LIBRARY REGULATIONS
I. Eligible Users
- Officials, lecturers, trainees and students of courses of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam
- Officials and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other readers
II. Library Card
Present a valid card to the Library staff when entering the reading room. Valid cards include:
- Subjects of students and students: Student card, Student card and library card
- Subjects of lecturers and employees of the DAV and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Cadre card
- Other readers: Library card, Identity card, Citizen ID card or other identification documents enclosed with a letter of introduction from the managing agency
Don't lend or use someone else's card; manage accounts and passwords, do not lend issued digital library accounts.
If the Library detects the use of another person's library card or the library account is logged in more than 01 time at the same time, the person who is granted the account will be subject to appropriate handling as prescribed.
III. Opening time (applied from 01/3/2022)
Monday to Friday:
From 8:00 to 17:00 (2nd and 3rd floors are open continuously without a midday break)
From 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (4th floor is open continuously without a midday break)
Saturday: From 9:00 to 18:00 (4th floor is open continuously without a midday break)
Library services will conclude 15 minutes prior to closing for administrative procedures.
IV. General Regulations
1. Put personal belongings in the locker before entering the Library and take care of the locker key (the Library is not responsible for any losses that occur);
2. Do not take library books or materials from the reading room without completing the checkout process and obtaining permission from library staff. Please do not misplace materials on the shelves. For each reading session, users are limited to 3 books, 2 newspapers, or 1 magazine. Materials must be retued to their designated locations before taking others.
3. Perform and remind others to preserve materials in the Library, check documents before use, if documents are damaged, to, erased, etc. immediately notify the Library staff; do not take notes, crop, remove covers, peel labels, or damage documents;
4. No seat reservation, other readers have the right to use it if the seat is vacant for more than 15 minutes;
5. Having a sense of protecting and preserving the assets and material foundations of the Library, causing damage that must be compensated;
6. Maintain order, hygiene, aesthetics and safety in the Library: walk lightly, speak softly, exchange group discussions at sufficient volume, limit influence on other readers, do not smoke, do not bring food, do not throw garbage, do not write and draw on documents, tables and walls, do not bring into the Library explosive and dangerous substances as prescribed by law, dress politely, neatly and behave civilly;
7. Only use computers in the Library for study and research purposes, do not use them to play games, chat, listen to music, watch movies, do not access websites with unhealthy contents, do not arbitrarily relocate, disassemble, install software or change computer equipment;
8. Comply with the provisions of the Intellectual Property Law when using the Library's materials, other regulations and guidelines of the Library and the inteal regulations of the DAV;
9. When leaving, it is necessary to rearrange the chairs neatly, close the cabinet door tightly, retu the key to the locker at the library staff's counter, and retrieve the library card;
10. Library staff shall be responsible for guiding readers to exploit and effectively use library resources, ensuring prompt and dedicated service to readers when necessary, civilized, polite and gentle service attitudes, having the right to refuse service when readers violate the Library's inteal regulations. have a scientific working style, constantly strive to improve service quality;
11. The library shall make a record of violations in order to take the form of handling as prescribed.

REGULATIONS ON BORROWING DOCUMENTS
1. Borrowed materials for on-the-spot reading and borrowed documents about:
1.1. Materials borrowed for on-the-spot reading:
Reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias; theses; dissertations; courses; newspapers; jouals; reports on scientific research topics (reserved for officials and lecturers) at the Reading Room on the 2nd floor and all books and documents in the Canberra - Ngunnawal Reading Room on the 4th floor.
1.2. Documents borrowed from:
Including textbooks, monographs, reference books stored at the general warehouse and on the shelves at the Reading Room on the 3rd floor.
When borrowing documents to bring home, readers need to write completely, clearly and accurately the contents of the Request Form.

*Note: Readers are required to renew before the expiration date: 1 day.
Readers carefully check the status of the documents and notify the library staff if the documents are damaged, to, dirty, erased... before carrying out borrowing procedures; Retuing books must be given to library staff for inspection, if damaged or lost, readers must pay compensation according to regulations.
4. Overdue fines:
– Readers retu books late, must pay a fine of 20,000 VND/day/document. In the following days, a progressive fine of 20,000 VND/day/document will be imposed.
– Readers who damage documents during use in case the Library can repair or restore them (long-covered, crumpled, smeared, painted, folded,... books will have to bear all costs for restoration depending on the degree of damage to the documents.
– If the reader loses or damages the document to the extent that it is impossible to repair or restore it, the user must retu the document by the following methods:
+ 01 original of lost or damaged documents + 50,000 VND for document handling
+ Compensation of the value amount equal to 03 times the current value of such document
– Readers who violate the regulations on borrowing 03 times will not be entitled to borrow books for 01 month.
5. Time limit for carrying out borrowing procedures to:
– Weekdays from Monday to Friday:
Moing: From 8 am to 11 am.
Afteoon: From 14h to 16h30.
– Classification by borrower:
1st year students: 3rd, 5th.
2nd, 3rd year students: 2nd, 4th, 6th.
Final year students, students, officials, lecturers: from 2nd to 6th.
– The Circulation Counter will stop serving borrowing and retuing materials 30 minutes before the Library closes.
6. Places for carrying out borrowing procedures to:
Specialized reading room on the 3rd floor.
